The Fix will open ACappellastock 2013!

The Fix, originating in Provo, UT, has captivated audiences with their party groove, since 2009. But don’t doubt their versatility. The group has been trained in the likes of jazz, classical, barbershop, hip hop, Broadway, and pop. All of these styles come together in an eclectic arrangement of sound and visual effects.

Members of the group live double lives, American blue-collar workers by day, but serious musicians by night. Trying to perfect their harmonies and choreography, The Fix is ready to break out of their mold and delve into other styles of music to add even more audio aesthetics to their reputation. Are you ready to get up and dance along with them? Whether you plan to or not, the odds are you will!

Answers to a few questions....

Just a few answers to some questions we've been receiving....
There is a service charge to use the system that we use.  It's $3.   If we went with Smithtix or something else it would have charged you $10+  We opted to go the $3 route.   And yes.  There is sales tax.  We wish we could make that go away- but there is not way around it.  Sorry.

NOTA joins ACappellastock 2013

https://www.facebook.com/#!/notavocal

The concept of NOTA was created by six male vocalists from Puerto Rico that have sung together for over 15 years in different A Capella groups. They are a unique Latino vocal band that bring a fusion of different styles while reinventing their vocal capabilities to make unforgettable rhythmic sounds.

This gifted vocal band harmonizes and performs without the accompaniment of instruments. Vocally reproducing all the instruments of the Latin orchestra - percussion, keyboards, bass, and all the other instruments has been their forte.

As Puertoricans, they bring alive a blend of salsa, hip-hop, reggaeton, r&b and merengue, with a hint of jazz. This is what NOTA calls vocal fusion.

ACappellastock is proud to present.... CADENCE!

The stage lights fall, the crowd goes quiet, and four harmonious voices rise up and fill the air. The melodies unfurl into something both familiar and fresh. What comes next may be a classic song by Joni Mitchell or Louis Prima. It may be an old bebop standard or cheeky arrangement of a 1980s hit. But these are arrangements like you’ve never heard them before—containing all the richness of a full band, but performed using just four voices.
This is Cadence, Canada’s premiere vocal group. Based in Toronto, this a cappella ensemble has been wowing audiences across the country and around the world for nearly 15 years. Whether performing at sold-out jazz clubs and concert halls, at music festivals, for educational outreach, or for corporate functions, the members of Cadence bring an infectious energy and uncanny verve to every song they sing.
The group’s four critically acclaimed studio albums, Cool Yule (2011), Speak Easy (2010), Twenty for One (2005), and Frost Free (2000) have won or been nominated for numerous awards, including three nods from the JUNO Awards and 10 from CARA, the Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards.
Cadence’s live shows are always a hit. They feature a hypnotic blend of complex harmonies, intricate arrangements, vocal dexterity, and just plain fun. On-stage antics and audience participation are par for the course at any Cadence show, but so too is a mesmerizing display of musical genius. What these boys can do with their voices needs to be heard to be believed.
The band is made up of Carl Berger (baritone and bass), Ross Lynde (tenor), Lucas Marchand (tenor), and Kurt Sampson (bass and vocal percussion). They each bring many years of training and performance experience to create a rich musical event appropriate for all ages.
Check out this vocal phenomenon for yourself. Buy an album, take in a show, or invite Cadence to perform in your town or city. One listen and you will agree; instruments are for surgeons!
